Installation of the IUD (copper or hormonal)

An IUD is an effective and long-lasting method of contraception, and is inserted inside the uterus to prevent fertilization or implantation. There are two main types of IUDs: the copper IUD, which works without hormones, and the hormonal IUD, which secretes hormones that prevent pregnancy and reduce the heaviness of the menstrual cycle. At the Horizon Medical Care Center in Ibri, We offer the service of installing various types of IUDs by specialized gynecologists and obstetricians, taking into account privacy and comfort, and choosing the right type according to the needs of each woman.

IUD Insertion Procedure (Copper or Hormonal)

We perform the installation of the screw with thoughtful steps that ensure safety and accuracy:

  1. Prior consultation: The medical history is discussed and it is determined whether a copper or hormonal IUD is more suitable, depending on desire and health condition.

  2. Clinical examination: An examination of the pelvis and uterus is performed to ensure the integrity of the fit.

  3. IUD insertion: The IUD is inserted into the uterus using a special instrument, in a procedure that takes only 5 to 10 minutes.

  4. Installation Duration: The IUD can be placed at any time of the menstrual cycle, preferably after the end of the cycle, after childbirth or abortion, as the case may be.

  5. After Fitness: The woman may feel mild contractions or cramps for a few hours, and temporary rest is recommended.

  6. Follow-up: A visit is scheduled after 4-6 weeks to make sure the IUD is positioned correctly.
