Childbirth Wound Reconstruction

Birth wound reconstruction is a cosmetic and therapeutic procedure used to improve the appearance of a wound caused by a vaginal birth (perineal incision) or cesarean section, and to correct any improper healing or irritating effects such as scars, adhesions, or abnormalities in the genital area. This procedure helps to restore a woman’s natural shape, improve sensation, and boost a woman’s self-confidence after childbirth. At the Horizon Medical Care Center in Ibri, We offer childbirth wound repair services by specialized gynecologists and cosmetologists, with full attention to comfort, privacy, and natural results.

Childbirth Wound Reconstruction Procedure

We perform the restoration in precise steps according to the type of wound and its problem:

  1. Consultation and examination: The type of wound (vaginal birth or cesarean section) and the extent of scarring, adhesion or sagging in the area are assessed.

  2. Determine the treatment plan: Depending on the case, either minor surgical reconstruction or comprehensive plastic surgery with a lift or reduction if necessary, is suggested.

  3. Anesthesia: Reconstruction is performed under local or semi-anesthesia depending on the type of procedure and the patient’s comfort.

  4. Restoration procedure: Old sutures are corrected, fibrous tissue is removed, and the area is reshaped with precision cosmetic sutures.

  5. Duration of the operation: Approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

  6. Post-procedure care: Rest, private hygiene, and avoiding marital relationship or strenuous physical activity are recommended for 4-6 weeks.
